Meet Shelley

Shelley brings 35 years of experience in marketing, graphic design, and event planning, having worked with notable organizations like Marketing Advertising Planning, Inc., Evergreen Publications/Waterville Intown Business Association, and Klarity Multimedia. She spent over two decades in the newspaper industry with Central Maine Newspapers and the Bangor Daily News, where she held various roles including graphic designer, audience development manager, and marketing manager. Most recently, Shelley served as Vice President, Director of Marketing and Events at the Bangor Region Chamber of Commerce, where she was instrumental in designing and marketing over 50 events each year, producing the annual Destination: Bangor, Maine magazine, and managing the Chamber’s digital presence. Her work has earned her multiple awards, including honors from the Maine Press Association, an International New Media Association award and Guru finalist at the Adobe Photoshop World Conference.
A University of Maine at Presque Isle graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Art, Shelley is deeply involved in her community, serving on several boards. A creative at heart, she enjoys painting and crafting, pickleball and golf. Shelley grew up in northern Maine in a hardworking French family and now resides in Orono with her husband Peter Sund, a business teacher at Bangor High School. They have two children, Karl and Kathryn, and cherish their time together at Silver Lake in the summer.
